Hot dog cases

Rozidar got extensive encouragement of the Malaysian Government in the development of the franchise sector, 1901 is now seen as one of those success stories of a locally produces brand. Rozidar want to expand her business into the overseas market. She needs to face the challenge of hiring staff that are willing to relocate overseas just to sell hot dogs. But, her product had the competitive advantage when she had been eying the Middle-East with its great opportunities for the halal market. She aims to be a global halal brand.

Besides that, when the anti-fast food protectors increase throughout the globe and the perception of fast food as unhealthy, she try to overcome the problem.

Firstly, she engaging her business in various types of corporate social responsibility (CRS) activities such as community work at old folks home, charity programmes and other community-based activities. Secondly, she decides to adopt the color green in its logo uses the new tagline ''Food for Friendship'' to represent the relationship between the company and its customers.

Other than that, she also invents to displays a more contemporary outlook with several variations in its menu such as pasta and coffee. The bigger thing to strengthen her company is joint effort with Air Asia. Based on streaming concept, the entire process of making hot dogs is smoke-free.

Lastly, the 1901 Hot Dog was awarded the Super brand status two years in a row and with intensive marketing campaign; it managed to recapture the youth market that has been targeted giant fast food franchise.

electricity tariffs INCREASE ?? does it make sense ?

Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui said that the electricity tariffs may increase in the next six months in the future.

It is expected to occur if the price of crude oil such as natural gas and coal suddenly increased in the world market, he said in a written reply to Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan.

But, do you want to know that, the reported world oil prices suddenly dropped below the U.S. $ 108 (RM328.30) a barrel for the first time following the nuclear crisis in Japan. So, what the reason for the Malaysia  government to increase the electricity tariffs ?

you all can read the news about oil prices dropped here :

Oil slides further on Japan nuclear concerns
March 15, 2011

LONDON, March 15 — Oil prices dropped sharply today with Brent crude falling below US$108 (RM328.30) a barrel for the first time in nearly three weeks as a deepening nuclear crisis in Japan heightened risk aversion across financial markets.

Japan’s nuclear crisis is equivalent to number six on the INES scale of nuclear accidents from one to seven, Kyodo news agency quoted the French Nuclear Agency as saying. The 1986 Chernobyl disaster was a seven and Three Mile Island a five.

There was panic buying in Tokyo shops after explosions at two nuclear reactors sent a low-level radioactive wind towards the capital, although officials said radiation levels at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex had fallen after an earlier spike.

April Brent fell US$4.29 to US$109.38 a barrel at 1212 GMT after earlier falling by more than US$5 to as low as US$107.88. US crude for April dropped US$3.35 to US$97.84 after slipping as much as US$4 earlier in the session.

“This is a massive risk off day today,” said Christin Tuxen, analyst at Danske Bank.

“The risk averse sentiment is coming through both in the equity market and euro/dollar. It’s weighing on oil even though fundamental drivers should suggest an upside.”

At one point, Japanese stocks plunged more than 14 per cent, heading for their biggest drop since 1987 as concerns grew over the economic impact of the unfolding disaster.

Oil demand from Japan, the world’s third-largest user, is likely to decline in the short term as manufacturing and transport stall but could then rise as the country seeks to replace nuclear with oil-fired power during reconstruction.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said today global oil demand was likely to be lower than previously forecast in 2011 as a result of a price shock and trimmed its forecast by 10,000 barrels to 1.44 million barrels per day.

SAUDI TROOPS IN BAHRAIN

Oil markets were also keeping a close eye on developments in the Middle East where Bahrain declared martial law today, a day after Saudi forces arrived in the Sunni-ruled kingdom to help restore calm following weeks of protests by the island’s Shi’ite Muslim majority.

Opponents of Bahrain’s Sunni ruling family called the move a declaration of war, while Iran denounced it as unacceptable and the United States urged its nationals to leave the island, which is home to the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

“The oil market is eyeing both developments in the Middle East and in Japan,” said Harry Tchilinguirian, head of commodity markets strategy at BNP Paribas.

“While the tensions in the Middle East represent upside risk to oil prices, the disruption to activity in Japan, and regionally through its trading ties with China, is leading oil prices lower for now.”

In Libya, Muammar Gaddafi’s jets bombed rebels yesterday in a counter-offensive that has pushed them back 160km in a week, far outpacing diplomatic efforts to impose a no-fly zone to help the insurgents.

On the data front, markets were looking towards weekly US inventory numbers from industry group American Petroleum Institute. A Reuters poll indicated US crude oil stockpiles probably rose by 1.8 million barrels last week. — Reuters

Actually, this news happens in the 2011. I want to publish it because the electricity tariff will be increase soon. But, I hope government of Malaysia will considered it again because of the flood happens in the Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan. If the electricity tariff increase, it will burden the citizen because they need to recover what they had lost in the flood. There a lot of goods that they are already loss and need to replace it with the new things.

Do not forget to pray for them who are been flood's victims !!!

My weekend

Yesterday, my friend and i who is Enactus members went to Kampung Orang Asli at Kelakar, Jelebu Negeri Sembilan. Our visited actually to meet the Tok Batin for discussed about our project which are 'kampung ville', 'pisang' and eco-tourism project. The main objective of the projects is to develop the orang asli's economy.

When my friends and i arrived there, i'm a very sad when i looked around the Kampung. Their house maybe had been built but the infrastructure is like there is none. My heart fell hurt, although they are not all muslims but still as human being they have the right to live in a comfortable life. :"(

Maybe, some of you feel weird why i post about Enactus program right ? actually, i written it because Enactus is Social Interprise Program which is solve the problem of society by using business model who is needed and sustainable in helping them. It really related to Strategic Management because in order to accomplish the objective, my friends and i is compulsory to learn the Business model Canvas. In the Business Model, we must know what the purpose of our project, who a target customer, have a  marketing strategies, built customers relationship and others. Of course, is not an easy project but it is a challenge for me and my friends.

So, back to my story, after my friends and i come into Tok Batin house we discuss about our three projects to him. Alhamdulillah, he agreed to cooperation with us. When we ask him, '' how about the land? He smiled and reply, '' don't worry about the land, we have a lot of land that are not use and you all can use the land to make your project''. After my friends and i hearing it, we are really happy. Allah knows we want to make a good deeds and HE help us. Alhamdulillah :).

Actually, at that time, there was a wedding ceremony in the Kampung and we were invited to the ceremony. My friends and i try to close with their children and their children are really friendly. Always smile and stick to us like does not want to leaves us. I fell their warm touching toward me.

My minds try to think, how the children who are not live in comfortable life can live in happy and always smile. My heart keeps asking because i want to know what the secret behind it when they can smile in such a bright smile :). What i mean by not live in comfortable life is they are not wearing a comfortable clothes (hope u all understand what i mean, I’m just cannot written it :"(   ) and their body are not clean very well.

When i looked at them, i remembered to my nieces. Don't know what to describe if they are be like them. What I’m most sure my heart will be hurting because i just can see it without doing anything.

But, now is the time to move on. My intention is to help them as much as i can. yeah !!! May Allah bless my friends and i, and Help US. amin2..

If good will, next week,  my friends and i will  go to the Kampung Orang Asli again, and maybe like jungle tracking because i will go into the jungle to see the land. For my group project, insyaallah we will plant the bamboo shoots to produce 'BAMBUSIA POWDER'. If you all still remember, Usim's students had win in the London for the 'Bmbusia' research. So, we will be the suppliers for them, the members of 'Bambusia' to make the powder.

Here, i upload some of the picture of my friends: hope you all enjoy seeing it ;)

Actually, after Dr. Mahadhir explained the one of the term business model convas, we need to discuss and presented to all members and him. There are nine terms in business model canvas which are key partners, key activities, value proposition, key resources, value proposition, customer relationship, customer segments, revenue streams and cost structure. Each group prensented their cheers including my group energeticly. Our MT and lecturers give a rounds of applause after we make a performance. There a bright smile on everyone face.

The next day,on Sunday we are doing outdoor activities. Firstly, we should make raft and compete with each group who got the flag. Although its very tiring but it really awesome. We try very hard to paddle the raft until reached to the flag and paddle again to the beach. Secondly, the explorace activities. Before we started the explorace, we need to put water in the bottle through a straw until full. We run as fast as we can to make sure we will be the first group to fill up the bottle.

Everyone try to sucking the water in the straw..

Gurlz also do the same thing^^

After fulfill the bottle, we started our explorace journey. There a lot of thing we need to do such as making a mats using a leaves.

After finished up making the malt, we need to making a ‘ketupat’ and cooking it.

Try to light up the fire.

OSHIMA TALK :)

madam ASNIDAR and USIM'S students
I still remember at that time when she said, '' failing make you stronger, learn from mistake ''. Her word make make heart and my body feel energy. Like someone give me an encouragement to walk toward although what going happen of my sigh now and in the future.

You want to know, who is the person ? She is the owner of the OSHIMA JAPANESE RESTAURANT :) . I want to introduce about her a little, her name is ASNIDAR HANIM, and we call her madam asnida. To me, she's really energetic and brave person. You know, she is the first person opened the halal Authentic Japanese Food. Amazing right !! yeah, there are a lot of Japanese food in the Malaysia but they have no halal certificate (maybe have halal logo but we are not  sure the halal is real or not ) because the japanese restaurant is owner by non muslim.

Now, malaysians people can eat japanese food without any worry about the status of the food either its halal or not. We can enjoy to eat as much as we want at Oshima Restaurant. Of course, to opened such a good and big restaurant like OSHIMA RESTAURANT is not an easy thing.

There a lot of thing need to sacrifice and faced with a strong faith. What i'm still remembered, there are two most hard time when madam Asnidar want to opened her restaurant are when she want to get the halal certificate and halal food supplier from Japan. Then, she success to got the halal certificate and halal food supplier, there other boundaries that she need to face is the price of the food supplier from Japan charged the food at the higher price . She said, they try to take advantage from her but she try to negotiate with the supplier to get the lower price as she can. It also hard to gain the trust from the supplier because they still cannot believe that halal japanese food  can make profit. But, madam Asnidar is such an intelligent, she try to persuade the supplier, then the supllier agree to supplier the japanese food to her.

Although the challenge is really hard, but she still keep move on and brave to overcome it no matter what happen. She said, '' in doing something, when we failing is a common thing''. It such a memorable quote especially for me. I'm really motivated by her at that time. And now, i'm still remember what she said. :)
Hopefully, i can be like her. Insyaallah^^

# to me she such a good entrepreneurship and brave to do anything !! she said , remember ! be a different from others. be a competitive advantage >.<

you all can visit her restaurant at KLANG,

My Fifth CLAss ;)

Assalamualaikum and hye everyone ;)

What you all doing right now?? Hope everyone always be happy for whatever u are doing and everything because of HIM. Remember to always ‘renew’ our intention. J As human being, sometime we don’t realize that our intention because of something else. Sometime we are forgot everything just for HIM, ONLY HIM

y

Emmm, OKAYHHH !!! I’M Just continue what I’m going to tell all of you about my INTERESTING CLASS with MISS UMMI J.. hikhikhik. For this week, i learned in chapter 5, THE FIVE GENERIC COMPETITIVE STRATEGIES. As good companies, they must know how to deal with the competitive strategy because a company’s competitive strategy deals exclusively with the specifics of management’s game plan for competing successfully. Its specific efforts to please customers, strengthen its market position, counter the maneuvers of rivals, respond to shifting market conditions, and achieve a particular kind of competitive advantage.

The five generic competitive strategies are low-cost provider strategy, a broad differentiation strategy, a focused low-cost strategy, a focused differentiation strategy, and a best-cost provider strategy. Then, the best-cost provider strategy included the four items of competitive strategies.

The one of the five generic competitive strategies is the LOW-COST PROVIDER STRATEGIES. But what is the objective ??  The low-cost provider strategies are striving to achieve lower overall costs than rivals on comparable products that attract a broad spectrum of buyers. A company achieves low-cost leadership when it becomes the industry’s lower-cost provider rather than just being one of perhaps several competitors with comparatively low costs. A company has two options for translating a low-cost advantage over rivals into attractive profits performance.

Firstly, to use the lower-cost edge to underprice competitors and attract price-sensitive buyers in great enough numbers to increase total profits. Secondly, to maintain the present price, be content with the present market share, and use the lower–cost edge to earn a higher profit margin on each unit sold, thereby raising the firm’s total profits and overall return on investment.

Then, there are two major avenues for achieving a Cos Advantage which are perform value chain attractive more cost-effectively than rivals and revamp the firm’s overall value chain to eliminate or bypass some cost-producing activities. The company should alert on cost drivers that are the KEYS to Driving DOWN COMPANY COSTS which are economics of scale, learning and experience, capacity utilization, supply chain efficiencies, input costs, production technology and design, communication systems and information technology, bargaining power, outsourcing or vertical integration, and incentive systems and culture.

BUT!!! The company must avoid a pitfall in pursuing a Low-Cost Provider Strategy. There are three pitfalls to avoid such as getting carried away with overly aggressive price cutting and ending up with lower, rather than higher, profitability. A second big pitfall is relying on an approach to reduce costs that can be easily copied by rivals. A third pitfall is becoming too fixated on cost reduction.

Besides that, the other Best Cost Strategy is BROAD DIFFERENTATION STRATEGIES. The essence of a broad differentiation strategy is too offer unique product attributes that a wide range of buyers find appealing and worth paying for. The example successful differentiation are command a premium price for its product, increase unit sales and gain buyer loyalty to its brand. Rememeber !!! Company differentiation strategies fail when buyers don’t value the brand’s uniqueness sufficiently and/or when a company approach to differentiation is easily matched by its rivals.

The most systematic approach that managers can take is focusing on the UNIQUENESS DRIVERS that are the KEYS to CREATING a DIFFERENTATION ADVANTAGE. The examples of uniqueness drivers are striving to create superior product features, design and performance, improving customer service or adding additional services, pursuing production R&D activities, striving for innovation and technological advances, pursuing continuous quality improvement, increasing emphasis on marketing and brand-building activities, seeking out high-quality inputs and emphasizing human resources management activities that improve the skills, expertise, and knowledge of company personnel.

In pursuing broad differentiation strategies, there are also having a pitfalls and the company MUST AVOID ITS!!! Firstly, a differentiation keyed to product or service attributes that are easily and quickly copied is always doomed. A second pitfall is that the company’s attempt at differentiation produces and unenthusiastic response on the part of buyers. The third big pitfall is overspending on efforts to differentiation the company’s product offering, thus eroding profitability.

Furthermore, FOCUSED (OR MARKET NICHE) STRATEGIES. It defined by geographic uniqueness, by specialized requirements in using the product, or by special product attributes that appeal only to niche members. There are two strategies focused by market niche which are low cost strategy and differentiation strategy.

A focused on low-cost strategy by aim at securing a competitive advantage by serving buyers in the target market niche at a lower cost and lower price than those of rival competitors. The firm can lower costs significantly by limiting its customer base to a well-defined buyer segment. It also keeping the costs of value chain activities contained to a bare minimum and search for innovative ways to bypass nonessential activities. Producers of private-label goods are able to achieve low costs in product development, marketing, distribution, and advertising by concentrating on making generic items imitative of name-brand merchandise and selling directly to retail chains wanting a low-priced store brand.

Secondly, a focused on differentiation strategy. It keyed to offering products or services designed to appeal to the unique preferences and needs of a narrow, well-defined group of buyers. It depends on the existence of a buyer segment that is looking for special product attributes or seller capabilities and on a firm’s ability to stand apart from rivals competing in the same target market niche.

But, as usual every strategy has a risk included the low-cost and differentiation strategy. One of the risks is the chance that competitors will find effective ways to match the focused firm’s capabilities in serving the target niche. Secondly, the risk related to the employing which is the potential and needs of niche members to shift over time toward the product attributes desired by the majority of buyers.

Lastly, the main strategy is the BEST-COST PROVIDER STRATEGIES. It stake out a middle ground between pursuing a low-cost advantage and a differentiation advantage, and between appealing to the broad market as a whole and a narrow market niche. The CORE CONCEPT is best-cost provider strategies are a HYBRID OF LOW-COST PROVIDER AND DIFFERENTIATION THAT AIM AT PROVIDING DESIRED QUALITY/FEATURES/PERFORMANCE/SERVICE ATTRIBUTES WHILE BEATING RIVALS ON PRICE. It be very successful in market when product differentiation is the norm and an attractively large number of value-conscious buyers can be induced to purchase midrange products rather than cheap, basic products or expensive top-of-the-line products.

I think I already explained in a VERY LOOOONGGG sentences
. Uhuhuhu, hope you ALL understand my explanation ;) see u all again ya^^
